Date Night

You read over and over again that it's important for married couples to continue to "date" each other and get a night out away from the kids every once in a while.  I'm sure you would agree that things change after kids...and I'm not just talking about the woman's body!
Brandon and I get our fair share of nights out without the kids, but it usually involves our friends.  We took the time this past weekend to go out, just the two of us. This may surprise you, but Brandon and I both love musicals. (He's so going to get made fun of at his next softball game.) We don't live in a big city with a great venue to host broadway musicals, but we do have a great Jasper Community Arts program.

This weekends  program was ScrapArtsMusic.  This amazing percussion performance features five performers who play instruments crafted from salvaged and recycled junk.

The performance was awesome!  It was a very high energy and engaging show.  And wouldn't you know...an evening without the kids and I couldn't help but think that they really would have enjoyed it as well.
