Ugh, technology!

Missing me lately?? My laptop is on the fritz...won't let me add images to any of my posts.  Don't worry, I've been writing- just not publishing.  I'll be back soon.  I promise!

High Five for Friday-Snowmageddon 2014

Ok, so it didn't snow as bad as expected here, but we were stuck in the house for a few days none the less. With the temperature being so low it meant we had to play inside.  And playing inside for too long makes for some pretty antsy boys in my house.  Here's our high five from this chilly flipping freezing week!

1.  DIY Star Lab
I wish I could take credit for this but I can't.  My 5 year old, Parker, gets the cred for this.  Vented pizza pan (or you could punch holes in a disposable pan) placed over a flashlight displays a star scene on the ceiling.  The kids had fun with this for hours.  Parker even crashed on the couch under the stars at night!

2.  Arctic Play
Tub of frozen water with a little splash pond was an instant hit...until their fingers got so cold and turned bright red!  (yes, I am aware that those are not arctic animals.  Use your imagination-it's all we had people)

3.  Iced Mocha
I mastered the "use what you have" iced mocha.  Coffee, hot chocolate and ice cubes- works for me!  (it really was pretty good)
**so your drink doesn't get watered down when the ice melts, freeze prepared coffee in an ice tray instead of regular ice cubes**

4.   My sister took my dad to his first Colts game.  And boy, what a great game to see!!

5.  The boys love the color changing tablets and bubbles that Santa brought them!!

Happy Friday!!

Wish List Wednesday

No reason to stop wishing just because the holidays are over.  I mean seriously there's only about 352 shopping days until Christmas 2014.  (pretty sure I did that math right)
Speaking of Christmas, if my kids get one more toy I think I might scream!
If your holidays were anything like mine then you probably told your family, "NO MORE TOYS!"  And if your family is anything like ours, then they probably didn't listen.
Here's wishing for some toy organization this year!
I really, really, really like these storage units from Land of Nod.

The white or grey would be perfect for the toy room in the next house.

The blue and red ones match Parker's room to a T.  I feel like it's meant to be!  And what do you know...they're on sale too!
For all you DIY handyman type, here are the plans to make your very own vegetable bin storage units.  (or the plans to make them for me if you'd like-just let me know how much!!)

The Blog- Year in Review

I'm not sure I should call it a "year" in review since my first post was just 10 months ago...but close enough.  I've had a blast starting up the blog and am so happy I did!  I remember being motivated and wanting to start a blog but having reservations at the same time.
Would people really want to read what I had to say?
I have to say, I'm pretty pleased with my stats!  I have published 123 posts since starting the blog in March of 2013.  The majority of my readers are in the United States, but I've had a steady flow of readers visit from Russia, Germany, France, Canada, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Netherlands.
As I write a post I always think about who would be interested in the topic.  Here are a few of my most read posts.
Who knew you guys would be so in to our hygiene?!?  Just Kidding :)
And #1 with more than 1,000 views...
You guys must like free stuff. Looks like I need to get another giveaway on the calendar.  Don't worry...I've got one coming!
Thanks for making 2013 fun!  I look forward to what 2014 has in store for me!!
